Type 1 Diabetes
What we do
Supporting Children with Diabetes is a hardship fund to help those families whose children suffer from Type 1 Diabetes and who do not have the means to support them during times of crisis.
The money is used to help families buy diabetes related items for the home or to provide mobile phones or laptops to assist with the use of NHS supplied Continuous Glucose Monitors.
Recent news
Supporting Children with Diabetes supplies mobile phones
Since the NHS began to supply CGM’s to children nearly 2 years ago, SCD has helped wherever possible by giving children phones or laptops to assist with monitoring their blood sugar levels. We only accept applications directly from the child’s Nurse or Doctor. We try wherever possible to supply a compatible phone and ask NHS staff to be flexible when asking for new technology.
“Your service and support
have been amazing”

We have no running costs
nor do we give money for research. so every penny we raise
goes directly to families who need it most.

“Thank you so much for the laptop for my son Jake. It has been a godsend. Jakes blood sugar levels have been quite erratic for the last couple of years and it was a challenge to analyse these without a computer.
Now I can upload his bloods weekly, and log into the diasend app, which is so much easier and straightforward for us to be able to manage his blood sugars, and see any patterns or reoccurring issues. A massive thank you for your exceptional kindness.”
— Claire and Jake
